⤢ This property sits in one of the best stretches of countryside in England. Although the owners have been resident here for a comparatively short time, they have known the house through friends of the family for some time; they felt it needed treating with respect.
The property is styled much within the traditional Essex/Suffolk rural paradigm, sporting soft red bricks, clay peg tiles and smooth render. The windows need to tie-in well. The choice of uPVC stormproof windows was a good one. With high energy efficiency ratings, Stormproof uPVC windows can help to reduce the cost of household bills. As the name suggests, Stormproof uPVC Windows are extremely durable and weather resistant and can keep out the country winds and draughts.
This is not a triumph of substance over style however; the profiles are traditional, the timber-effect is subtle and well executed and the monkey-tail handles truly round off the effect of a traditional English country home. All the benefits of modern approaches coupled with classic looks.
The Radlington Deep Cill
A testimony to the attention to detail, we used a deep cill detail called ‘The Radlington’. Old imperial bricks varied in height, metric bricks are 65mm. Old timber cills were deep and often aligned with a course of bricks. The Radlington is a modern interpretation of timber cills and allows for packing, expansion, Baypole jacks and irregular mortar. So if you are replacing traditional timber windows, installation becomes easier and the end result more authentic.

"We had our bay windows with stained glass replaced and some french doors fitted. Windows Etc copied the original stained glass pattern and colours perfectly. The new doors replaced a window and have opened the room up massively letting loads more light in."
"We were slightly apprehensive about having our windows replaced due to the size and replicating the original Georgian styling. From the start Stef and the staff assisted in finding our lovely new windows, which have an authentic sash style at a very reasonable price. After our porch was completed I had to come back and show the appreciation for the great work undertaken by Lee, Leo and Shaun."
