Agate Grey Bifold Doors & Windows for a Stylish Farmhouse New Build

This new-build in Lawford follows a classic farmhouse vernacular, with stock brickwork, dark weatherboarding, and oak accents setting a warm, traditional tone. But behind the period-inspired exterior lies a clever, contemporary glazing scheme, carefully selected to provide both visual harmony and modern functionality.

The Split Opinion Concept

The project is titled “Split Opinion”, a playful nod to the standout feature: a 4-1-3 bifold door configuration in the kitchen-diner. With four panes on one side and three on the other, the design allows the end sections to function as French doors, providing a highly versatile traffic door option. This setup offers the best of both worlds, easy everyday access and the full impact of a wide, uninterrupted opening when all panels are folded back to reveal the view.

Solidor Composite Doors Front and Rear

Both the front and rear of the house feature Solidor composite doors, the front entrance offering a solid, statement look, and the rear fitted with a half-glazed Solidor back door that balances privacy with natural light. Together, they deliver superb security, thermal performance, and design consistency across the home.

Stormproof uPVC Windows in Agate Grey

The rest of the property is fitted with stormproof uPVC windows in Agate Grey. This muted, elegant tone sits beautifully alongside the natural materials used throughout the build, helping the glazing blend rather than dominate.

Smarts Aluminium Bifold Doors

To the rear, Smarts aluminium bifold doors serve both the kitchen-diner and living room. Externally powder-coated in Agate Grey to match the windows, and internally finished in white, they create a subtle yet cohesive look. The living room features a more conventional three-panel bifold, still offering generous access and uninterrupted views of the garden.

Juliet Balcony to the Master Bedroom

Upstairs, a Juliet balcony to the master bedroom adds architectural interest and a welcome touch of drama, allowing light to flood in while giving the rear elevation a focal point that feels both classic and contemporary.
