Glazing Spaces

In Lexden, Colchester, where classic and modern sit side by side on the same street, a home extension project is redefining elegance. Local homeowners, with an eye for sophistication, embarked on a journey to expand their living space while preserving a connection to the rich heritage of the area. What makes this job work is glazing that suits both the house and the area, featuring key products chosen for their quality.

Bifold Doors

The bi-folding door stands as a masterpiece blurring the lines between this Colchester home’s interior and its outdoor space. Crafted with precision, this door creates an inviting open space, connecting the living area to the garden. The French door uses the same material as the bi-folds, so the elevation reads as one piece. The three-leaf design allows one leaf to be easily used as a traffic door.

Roof Lantern

Adding a touch of grandeur to the extension, the Korniche Roof Lantern crowns the space with an abundance of natural light. This architectural feature not only enhances the visual appeal of the room but also creates an airy atmosphere. The sleek aluminium frame unifies the entire space, creating a harmonious blend of form and function.

Aluspace Internal Door Screens

Connecting the extension to the original section of the home, two Aluspace internal door screens serve as statement pieces. The single door, devoid of sidelites, offers an elegant transition between rooms, allowing privacy without disrupting the visual continuity. The double door with 2 Sidelites, in 6mm single clear toughened glass, gives the entrance some presence and keeps the connection between spaces. The Matt Bronze Varese Lever Handles add a touch of local opulence, elevating the overall design aesthetic to reflect the refined taste of the homeowners. The Goalpost frame has no frame at the bottom, so nothing interrupts the opening and nothing to step over.

Flush Sash Window

The aluminium flush sash window over the kitchen sink is finished in the same coating as the bi-fold doors. The flush sash design suits the local architecture. The aluminium finish ensures durability whilst minimising the sightline of the mullions.

This home extension project is a symphony of premium quality and elegance, with glazing products serving as virtuoso performers that resonate with the local architectural vernacular of Colchester. The aluminium flush sash window, Bi-Folding Door, French Door, Korniche Roof Lantern, and Aluspace Internal Door Screens come together to create a living space that not only expands the physical boundaries of the home but also embodies the timeless charm of Lexden living.
